Question: Lighting?

As you can tell from the username, I am and Axi Newbie
I just got my first Axolotl about 4 weeks ago.
I have a 50 litre tank for her, but im not sure if the gravel is good for her. I'll post some pictures of the tank later. :happy:

Well back to my question. I've read that Axolotls have no eyelids and dont particularily like the light. So should I have the light on?

You can have the light on as long as the Axolotl has a place to get away from it, a nice dark area. And yes, remove the gravel.

So is it ok to have a barebottomed tank? I have live plants so how will they stay down?

Or you can use sand...there are things called plant weights or plant anchors...or you can just use a rock.
