So my lfs is getting in a shipment of cfbn today , as some of you know, about a month ago i purchased 4 , from which 2 have survived and are actually thriving :d, im a well aware of the horrible conditions the newts are exposed to during being caught and shipped, and i really hate the fact that the market does not take the animals into consideration or the damage caused to wild populations . However , knowing that the store will still aquire them regardless of the prementioned , i cant sit by and let my consciousness know that some of theses little guys wont make it or go to some owner who doesnt know what they are doing and will meet an untimely end. I want to save 2 today if possible, i have my 20 gallon long which is comming along great and houses 2 cfbn and a nerite snail & lots of live plants, i do routine water changes and keep a eye on quality, when i do go and pick the little guys out i will be sure to pick the healthiest ones possible, i will inspect for skin disease or wounds, activeness etc. I think picking them up asap ( 5 hrs within being recieved in the pet store ) will highly raise the chances for survival and will lower futher risks. I do have one question, is it neccessary to isolate the new newts before introducing them to the cureent 20 gallon long set up ? Thanks in advance !
