Online pet shop owner faces jail after illegally sending terrapins in post - Telegraph

Sending animals (with the exception of insects and fish eggs) in the UK is a bit difficult these days. It's illegal to send them by Royal Mail, and the big mainstream couriers like TNT and Citylink won't accept animals, except for people who hold a live animals account with TNT that they got before TNT stopped giving them out. The only legal way to send them, as far as I can tell, is by a licensed animal courier like a reptile taxi (or TNT if you're one of the lucky people who have a live animals account with them, since they're licensed to carry animals, but have decided not to take on any new customers for that service).
