Hello! I am new to Axolotls and I have a 20gal aquarium set up. Its been cycled and running with Guppies for almost a year. The Guppies are mostly gone now, only one female and a handfull of fry remain. It came with a LED hood that has two settings, one is pretty bright and the other is the blue moonlight setting. I was wondering if anybody has ever tried to put a filter, like say a piece of milky glass, on it to dim it down a bit? If so, what have you used? I have some plants still in that tank and i wish to keep them. I am also growing a tiger lotus which sooner or later will have lilly pads to block out some of the lights. Any suggestions?

so i experimented with my lights a little bit. I used some brown plastic grocery bags to dim down the light a little bit. I covered the plastic cover that is over the LED strip with two plies of plastic and it seemed to be way dimmer. I was wondering if that would be an ok light source for a few hours a day, since I would like to keep my plants alive and where the tank is set up, it doesn't get much natural light, if at all.
