So I got a new bubble bar for my two axolotls' tank. It's got six LEDs that change color and stuff--really pretty. It's brighter than I thought it would be. I haven't seen any signs that Mulder or Turanga care that it's there but what do y'all think?

Edit: the glow above the tank is from their regular light. It's on a timer and goes off after 8 hours. That's been there for six months and has caused no problems.

As long as they have areas to get out of the light to sleep and don't seem bothered by it, I don't think it would be an issue. My axolotl's tank is quite close to my large TV, I don't watch much but it seems like it could be quite bright. There's a corner that is nice and dark with plenty of plants that he could go to and be completely shaded and he doesn't seemed bothered by the TV.

do axolotls like bubbles? Some of my tropical fish seem to enjoy playing in and out of bubbles.

Some do, some don't. Most juvies will play in the bubbles, adults tend to grow out of it. Bubblers are not necessary for axies though, so it's purely for the look.
