Okay, so I've heard that black lights can be dangerous if over-used and such, but I haven't heard anything about the popular led blue moonlights.
I have a Finnex FugeRay which has the regular white leds and optional blue moonlights that you can use for night viewing.
Has anyone had personal experience with lights like these, or heard anything negative about them?

Also, because I'm just curious, do these lights make GFP axolotls glow as well?

Thanks in advance!

Quite a few people have them-including me :D. Personally, I find them fantastic- not enough to disturb my little monsters, but enough to give the guppies a chance to escape in the night :p. As to glowing, sadly we can't get GFPs here (You can guarantee I'd have one if we could!), so I can't answer that accurately for you.

Thats cool - Thanks Caitie!

Does anyone else know if GFPs glow at all under moonlights??

I use blue moonlight for my axolotl tank. I got a light that faces against the wall so it's not directly on the tank

They do glow under blue lights. I don't use my blue light in the tank with my GFP bc I've heard it's stressful for them. Do others know if that is true?

They glow under blue LEDs. Not quite as intense as under a black light, but the black light is VERY stressful to them. Mine went so berserk the time I shone a black light on them I've never done it again. They obviously hated it. The blue led lights don't seem to bother them at all.

So I tried the blue light setting on my aquarium fixture last night...I've always been hesitant to do so. My little leucistic GFP seemed to not notice the change (he/she didn't move from his/her catatonic little position, at least). How would I even be able to tell if he/she were bothered by it?

If it upset her she would have probably swum around trying to escape/hide.

Here's how they look under blue leds:
