I am currently raising around 25 Axolotls from eggs(1" now), and now have about 200 more eggs that will hatch at my guess in another 4-5 days.

I haven't raised so many at once yet and I am wondering what everyones set ups are like.

Is tubs cleaned and changed daily the best method? It seems like a lot of work for those of you have have 100's upon 100's at a time.

Also does everyone scoop through nets, use a baster or dump the water through a net? I lost a few of my albinos I am sure by not seeing them at tank cleaning time as I had 50/50 leucistic to albino and now have only one albino and 25 leucistic.

Thanks!

I use large shallow bins for my babies with about 2" of water. I use medium size shallow bins for my juveniles and separate them to smaller groups and feed heavily to prevent canibalism. Another way I do it is separate them into smaller bins individually but it's more work cleaning. You can somewhat automate it by drilling a small hole in the upper portion, placing them on a rack over a catch tray or gutter, putting in pvc and a drip/slow stream system that will cause the water to slowly turn over.
