This is more curiosity than anything else.
I can totally 100% understand why a regular filter is a no-go for newly hatched axies...
But would a sponge filter be okay?? The ones I get have this tube you can attach so it doesn't blow bubbles into the water and there's nowhere for them to be sucked into, would a sponge filter then be okay for little ones?
It's a possibility brine shrimp are too messy I guess, but it's a thought I had. Would be 100000x easier than daily water changes so I thought I'd ask why sponges aren't recommended.
