Hi,
can you help me with this larva of dobrogicus?
it has a problem, they don't develop the limbs.

Wow, that´s strange.
Apart from the obvious limb deformities, the colour in the back is clearly distorted, which makes me think that perhaps at least part of the problem might be neurologically related, although that´s pure speculation. It could also be a congenital disorder akin to human´s phocolemia.

this is another larva of dobrogicus, it still has the gills.

I would euthanize that first larva. It looks like a genetical error.

Or you can make sure he doesn't take part of any reproduction if his condition doesn't seem to bother him. I don't know how many room and how many animals you've got, but you could put it in a seperate tank.

yes! I agree with Niels D, I will leave him/it in an alone container, so that doesn't reproduce.

the parents were my. is it possible that they were brothers and from the joining there has been a genetic error?

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
