I just wanted to show off my handsome boy, I've had him for about a year now and he's over a year old. I bought him from a pet shop who didn't look after him too well, so he has a few faults and is a little short in growth here and there, like his gills being short etc. They have grown back since the day I got him, and he's healthy and happy!

I took a few snaps of him today just to journal his growth, and he decided to strike a few poses. Maybe he's happy about the new sand? ((awful colour I know! I wanted something bright))

He will soon have a tank mate called Yiddle!

The first one I went to take a photo of his side, he turned his head and gave me a chin up haha

He is happy and grateful for sure for being out of that petshop!
Nice animal :D
Have a nice weekend

Thank you, the place is still selling some so I will be getting his friend from there

Did you say you have had him for a year and got him as a baby? Why haven't the feet grown back?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
