I recently acquired a group of 5 L.v.vulgaris. It´s 4 males and 1 female. They arrived starved and dehydrated after a seven days long trip....but they are now looking much better. The female is fully recovered, and the males vary a bit, but they are putting on some weight. I´m feeding them earthworms and waxworms, the first to keep them nutritionally fed, and the second to make them gain some fat.
They are extremely shy, and at first it was very tricky to get them to eat because even the movement of the prey scared them off...but now they are getting a bit bolder and they eat very well.
I hope to be able to get some decent pics sometime this week, though they are not the most stunning animals now that they are terrestrial. I think they are brilliant though, and when they become aquatic i´m prepared to be min-blowed!
