My salamander tank is getting quite warm inside now as the weather is getting warmer outside. I am thinking of putting an ice pack in the tank which is wrapped in tissue so that it doesn't damage him if he goes on it/near it. Is this a good idea to keep his tank cool?

Many thanks :)

That can work. You can also place the ice on the lid, or on a side, close to where the salamander prefers to hide. Ideally, though, you should try to find a place where it is cooler (basement, closer to the floor, air-conditioned room....).
If you can expose the tank to the cooler night temperatures, that will go a long way too. Moderately high day-time temps are much better tolerated with a night-time drop.

Ok then thank you very much. My salamander tank is in the shade out of direct sunlight in my room which is close to the floor. My room is usually a good temperature just the weathers got really hot this weekend. I will use that idea then and make the temperature cooler at night. Thanks again.
