Kaiser's Spotted Newt

Question about Kaiser's Spotted Newt, do they need to be put in a terrestrial tank and switch between terrestrial and aquatic enclosures? Because if I bought one I wouldn't wanna switch between tanks, and its $60 and I don't wanna end up killing it if I get it, so do they really NEED it?
