Looks like your axolotl has eaten a large amount of sand! Does it have any trouble swimming up to the surface to take a gulp of air? Should pass out naturally but keep an eye on it.

Regards Neil

Thats what i was thinking, we already had a scare where he ate a bunch of gravel and we put him in sanctuary.
Last night he was perfectly fine and swimming to the top and nibbling on my fingers (trying to alligator death roll my index! hahah) But today he has been chilling on the bottom a bit more.
I will definitely keep an eye on him, is there a way to fix it? Should I maybe get him a feeding bin so that all the blood worms arent constantly on top of the sand?
Thanks!

Cute axie. You can try putting him in the fridge, that usually helps them pass whatever they've eaten. When I feed my axolotls blood worms, I usually take a Tupperware and scoop them from their tank and feed them in that Tupperware, then return them. I don't like having bloodworms all over the tank, ha. But then again, my axolotls don't even eat bloodworms because they like moving food, so they get worms instead. Maybe someone can offer a better solution.

I put a petri dish in the tank and just place the bloodworms on that. Seems to keep from any accidental sand ingestion, and isn't too much of an eye sore.
