Java fern

Morning,
Sort of axie related Q..
I have a Java fern growing that I tied to an ornament. The roots are starting to grow Alot and they are floating up. Should I trim them or loosely tie the roots to the ornamentby wrapping the roots around it?

I would trim it the roots it take months for Java fern attach to something

Fishing wire would work if you want to wrap it on something.. I wrapped my java fen on a piece of wood and its grown a lot since then
