My jfbn has a shallow gouge by his arm and I was wondering what to do. His is a juvenille or subadult.

He sits in shallow water or stays on wet land. There are no other tankmates. He is definitely a Japanese fire belly too. There are no crickets or anything else that would harm him and it is a sponge filter. I might have hurt him while moving him but I don't know for sure that's just a guess. I was wondering how to prevent disease and help it heal.

He seems to be getting better. I think he ate a phoenix worm and now he is more active. He goes in the water more too but likes to float at the top. He also swims more leisurly.

I have treated him three times so far in a salt water bath and I couldn't hel but wonder if the salt water bath hurts because it bathes a fungal infection so it really is over an open wound. Whenever I have an open wound and salt is on it it burns so does it burn my newt too?
