Hi my name is turtlepoop lol can call me Amy as well. I'm a big fan of Axolotl. Currently I have 3 adults that are close in age. I thought I had more time for maturity but was wrong. I couldn't even distinguish male from female yet but SURPRISE I can now. Had my first clutch from my female Melanoid and decided to go for it as it was a small clutch. Knew I needed to re home my male but babies were a handful...then I got another clutch from my other Golden Lucustic Albino...phew wow but I removed Male White Lucustic in temporary tank now. Way ahead schedule as didn't have even a tank and its certainly not cycled...im just watching everyday perimeters and water changes if anything moves at all. No idea what to do with these guys as in a forever home. Any suggestions on that or anything else?

Welcome to Caudata! Awesome that you hve so many axolotls, i only have a golden albino named Ponyo, but im getting a wild type thats also a female so they dont mate :) Its good you seperated your axies, your female could get sick from laying eggs too much. And good luck on raising your babies, it must be very hard. And if your tank isn't cycled then just tub your axolotl.

My golden was giving me special poses in case anyone wonders why I posted random pics. She likes being perched at the top of the tank. Even when plant light is on..silly girl

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
