I have a screen lid to cover my orientalis's cage but I dont know if they will be able to get through the wholes or corners.�  that square is how big the holes r.

Sorry, I dont understand what you are talking about? What square? how about some exact measurement?

A newt cannot get through the squares in the screen itself. But it can get through any gap under the lid. It can get through at the corner if you have any tubing or cord passing through. See:
