So I bought a tank and a filter the other day, but since we were in a rush, I didn't really have time to check the filter first, so I'm a little unsure if it is suitable for axolotls or not.

It's a Marina power filter and comes with 2 different replacement filter cartridges. One is called Bio-Card and it says "Includes carbon to remove pollutants and odors. Best for tropical fish." The other one is called Bio-Clear and says "Includes Zeolite to absorb toxic ammonia and reduce fish stress. Best for goldfish." It also says it has Bio-Guard filtration with Ceramitek.
Depending on which cartridge you use, it would either be carbon with Ceramitek, or Zeolite with Ceramitek.

I'm not sure which cartridges to use (if either), since I don't know whether carbon or Zeolite are okay to use. Is Ceramitek okay too?
I included a few pictures of what it looks like too.

Any clue if all of this is safe to use? If not, I can always return it.

Thanks!

Those names are most likely marketing scams.. There's really no filter that says "best for axolotls" I've never heard of any filters causing harm to axolotls (other than water flow of course) So in my opinion it would be fine :)

you can definitely use it
i would use the filter for tropical fish

It's a fine filter, but your axies would probably be so much happier with a sponge filter. Your wallet would be happier too!

Yeah, I was planning on getting a sponge filter, I might invest in one later on. :) Thanks!
