Ok so, a few days ago, I got a axolotl, and, im wondering if this is a okay setup? He has a 10 gallon tank, Hes just a baby, and Has a filter (5/10 gal filter) and air pump, the plants are Red Flames. He has aquarium sand as substrate.

If this isnt a ideal setup, can you guys give me tips?

PS: It is dark in my room. My camera makes the picture seem like radiations been added to it, and it makes it glow, so bear with me

As long as the water is cycled, yes, that's fine for the time being. Axolotls will grow about an inch a month until they are fully grown, so they will soon outgrow a 10-gallon tank. 20 gallons is the absolute minimum, although I think it should be more. It might be a good idea to start cycling a new tank now so you can upgrade their home in a few months when they are much larger.

good temporary set-up as long as water-quality in check. consider getting ready to upgrade to a 20-30g long soon though. they grow fast. and since your room is dark, it will be fine not to have as many hides.
