Is this a good habitat?

I currently have 2 smallmouth salamanders (im just holding one Ill be getting rid of it monday) and I was wondering if this is a good setup that provides what they need.I've been reading about them and I've made this, PLEASE tell me if im missing anything.

Hi Juston,

It is nice to see someone such as yourself showing an interest in such an overlooked species as smallmouths. As far as the tank goes it's not bad, however, I feel the salamanders would best be accomodated in a tank with less water (perhaps just a water dish) and a more natural substrate (such as dirt) with lots of hide areas -- leaves, moss, bark... you can be creative with this. I'd just make sure to gather materials for furnishing the tank from areas free of pollutants, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.

It looks good, but i too would suggest the dish and also do you have a lid?
