my axi keeps getting fungus over and over again and i need some sort of water cooler

They sell chillers...but i keep my tank cool by swapping 2 liter bottles full of ice

What is your temperature at?

Also is that your axie in your pic? You dont still have those rocks in there do you?

True, just fill some old 0,33L bottles with 90% water, and see how many you need to take the temp down 1 or 2 degrees before they are fully defrozen, then regulate it slowly

my axi's temp is at 20 and no that was my first one that passed away and i now have river sand that i washed out so there was no nasty bugs in it and ive tried doing the water bottle thingand it bumps the sides of the tank annoying the axi but the one i have does look alot like that one in the pic except it has reder and longer gill feathers it quite cute :D

They will get used to the water bottle doing its occasional bumps. Mine didnt like it at first but its better for them to be in cooler water so my 4 just had to deal with it :p haha they are fine

Are you sure the water is okay, mine have lived at room temperature, roughly 16-22 degrees C since I got them, and they have never had any fungus or been ill...

I don't think it's your temp that's causing fungus...thats on the colder side still
How often do you do water changes?

i cant do water changes much im only 13 and i got school

these are the cheapest (new) chillers in Australia - Chilling & Heating - Hailea Chillers - Guppy’s Aquarium Products Online - Hailea Chiller try ebay or gumtree for used

That is the most sorry assed excuse i've heard this week kiddo, and i've heard a few.

A water change once every 1-2 weeks does not take much time. Assuming you have a 3 foot tank or so then to vaccuum the floor while emptying some water into a bucket or three with about 30 litres of water, then refilling the tank with 2-3 buckets of conditioned water should only take a healthy young person 30 minutes or so.

Seriously, if you really care about your animal, get out of bed 30 minutes early on a Saturday and change some water out.

Then you've got all the time in the world. I'm 22 and I work a full time job. I've also got my yoga classes, I hike, and I crochet, and get through a novel a week. I still fit in water changes.

I also don't think it's the temp causing the problems.

I've said it before to you - I have three tanks and if I keep up the regular water changes it only takes me about 30 minutes a week to do all three.

Take a bucket or two of water out, clean up any waste and add the water and dechlorinator back in.

You need to find a time when you can do the changes regulary. Set an alarm to remind you if you have to. I had a lot more free time when I was 13 than I do now.

I set an alarm to go off every saturday at 2pm. If I haven't done the change by then, it gets done when that alarm goes off. Part of keeping animals is MAKING time to do mantainence.

yesterday i noticed that my axi was peeling skin or gooie stuff so i gave her a water change and i did a ph test before i changed it and it was saying acid so i knew it wasnt happy so i did a water change imediatly and i will try to do water changes more often..
