Has anyone seen this type of infection? It looks like the skin at the base of his leg is rotting off. I feel like such a horrible keeper. Please help! Should I quarantine, use hydrogen peroxide and Benadine? Any ideas?
thanks in advance for all advice!

Wow... looks an huge problem. What's happened? a wound? dirty water? Triturus marmoratus have strong toxins to combat infections: I would use Benadine

Well, last night I completely changed out his tank with new soil, swabbed him with some hydrogen peroxide and washed with chlorinated tap water, then let him rest, then swabbed with betadine and washed with tap, rested him then bathed him in dechlorinated and he is still alive this morning! Am planning on following up with
an hp swab tonight and every night like the docs say. Hope he is strong enough to pull through.

was he on land or aquatic also have you seen a good amphibian vet cheers justin
