My Tank is 60cm by 30cm and is a 60 litre tank. My Axalottle however is around 20cm in length at the moment. I have had to continue to upgrade his tank cause over the past year i have had him he has doubbled in length. Is the Tank to small??? My tank is quite deep, is it better to have a shallow tank???

It is possible to keep one axolotl in a tank that size long-term. Deep water is fine. If you get a bigger tank, it doesn't need to be any deeper; the length/width are the important measurements.

How much water do you remove from the tank each week? And does it have a filter? It's important to keep up with cleaning, especially in smaller tanks.

A good rule of thumb appears to be 18inches of tank per axie. I have a quarantine tank that is that size every new addition spends 30 days at leats init and they are all doing fine.

I would look at getting a bigger tank in time purely as it is more interesting for your axie.

Good Luck

As long as your tank is 60 long x 30 high x 30 wide, they will float in plants and stuff but tend to need floorspace rather than height. I've seen axies in 60high x 30 wide/30 long and they look squashed trying to move around, some people tend to use these tanks as they don't have the room for long tanks.
