Hello, i have a wee Chinese fire belly newt that was quite skinny (to the point of bone showing above the back leg)
i started him on frozen blood worms which were quite small and he ate but maintained weight and didnt really gain much and grow much in size.
I moved him into a bigger 23 liter glass tank in prep for a bio active habitat but after 2 weeks of the new blood worms, he has gotten thick
I did up his meals to 2/3 blisters a week to hopefully get weight on him but think he might of become a tiny bit over, i can find any “ideal body” size ref pics for fire bellys.
i just wanna see your thoughts as im worried he could be bloating due to other problems, pretty sure it just a case of the fats while needing to go the bathroom.
Thoughts ?
*note, in the picture, I rarely handle him and the other hand was wet but need it to take the photo
