So I need help. I got 2 axolotls Cheeto who we realized is female and mochi our boy. Now they were 3 months old in February when I got them. They were growing awesome, but now Cheeto is much much smaller than mochi I mean way smaller and isn't eating that great. Now they are spoiled and will only eat frozen blood worms. I have tried bigger worms, salmon, shrimp brine and regular shrimp, they refuse to have anything to do with any of them especially the bigger worms like it tramayized mochi the one and only time he ate one, cause the next time I tried he swarm so fast across his tank to get away from it. So I need to know if it's the food there eating or not eating or of shes possibly sick, or if mochi's being a meanie and eating all the food. I have seen him once or twice be aggressive for food but not that bad. I mean if I have to move them to separate tanks I will but I thought they loved each other. I'm so worried for her. Please help. I would send pictures of them but I just started here today and don't know how yet. Help please

Although you would like to keep them together I would say it would be time to move them apart due to you questioning ones weight and the aggressiveness. Help plump the other one up. My question is do you just throw the worm in? or do you cut the nightcrawler up? Try using tongs to assist in feeding. Blood worms are considered more of junk food rather than a nutritious meal. Some people use crickets as a meal although have never used them. I'd try to reintroduce the similar foods again and assist with tongs. If she doesn't take it within 5 mins or so then introduce another food. Try to keep the blood worms as a treat after she has shown some progress. Good luck

Thanks to all your reply l. As for feeding with tons that's the only way they'll eat is with tons and the nightcrawlers I cut them in half and would feed with tongs but I'll try different then thanks.

Not every owner feeds with tongs some hand feed do thats why I threw in with tongs because some use their hands. I am a hand feeder myself but I said tongs just in case your hand may scare your axolotl. Good luck 👍 maybe you can try crickets 🤷🏽‍♀️ too some say they like them as well.

I want to thank you for your advice,j so much. I separated them and now Cheetos the happiest girl, doing so much better and eating red wigglers now still small but hopefully that will be changing really soon. Even mochi the boy seems to be eating better and happier as well so thank you.
