I would say not as the stomach area isn't very rounded. Could you maybe add a photo from the side too? How long is she roughly?

Read these two links and see what you think :-
Axolotls - Biology
Axolotls - Breeding Axolotls Successfully

I would give her a day or two before worrying about her not eating, if anything else changes let us know on this thread.

How thin was she before if she's got bigger? Did you se spermatophores? I am highly doubtful she's about To lay eggs

Jerome, I think she looks fine. :D
But if you have doubts, the first thing you should do is check your water for ammonia, nitrate and nitrite. If you don't have tests take a water sample to an aquatic shop and they generally will check a sample for you. Also watch the water temperatures too.
Have a good read of the articles I linked earlier, plus this one :- Axolotls: The Fascinating Mexican Axolotl and the Tiger Salamander . Nearly all your questions can be answered there :D

she was thinner in her look and her tummy shoudnt be that big and also i saw only one spermatophore sticked in their tank cave and also why did she stop eating well she keeps refusing my food what ever i give her she just doesnt mind it my first attempt was she ate and i gave her some tubiflex worms and seem to ignore it are they sick?? the test were all fine and seem to be more inactive and sluggish female , she also should be active as before.... im scared of her!! i changed his tank's water....

Hmmmmmm is this the same axie that is sick on another thread you've started??

You keep asking questions about your axies & then when you are given advice (repeatedly!) you ignore it & do not properly test your water parameters :(

It seems like you care... but what is that point in asking question after question, then once offered advice you ignore it!

This is a fantastic forum & the people here are very willing to help :D - but then you need to follow through with the advice & not deny that there seems to be a problem with them.

Highly active axolotls are not normal. If they're overly active, it's usually a sign that they're sick, the temperature is too high, or their water quality is poor.

Have you tested your water parameters? You said "they're fine"; what levels were they?

Try offering some larger, live food. Earthworms are the best staple.

hey people they're already eating I let a vet take care of it and they told me to wait for some time and when they returned to me and took it home they're already acting fine thanx and also please dont be sad if you think i do not listen to your questions , if you are believe me I did everything. but none happens so i just took them to a vet thanks! everyone:(

Did your vet test your water parameters? Have you bought a full test kit yet?

Call me a sceptic but..... I doubt you took them to a vet at all :( - it's only been a day or two since you posted this post & a few days prior your axie wasn't pregnant her gills were shortening - oh wait nooo they weren't! So when did they have enough time to be kept by a vet for treatment? Why would you rush them to a vet when you're constantly trying to reassure the people here who are genuinely concerned about your axies that they aren't sick anymore!

I'm saddened for your axies :(
They really do DESERVE better!

Sorry fellow Caudataites - shoot me for speaking my mind - but this really gets me riled & saddened to think of animals suffering like that :( I don't like made up stories - that doesn't help anyone!

no i mean is that after the day i posted this I took it to a vet and it was fine now.... it's already done ok???

Jerome, you have to understand that we're all looking out for the best interest of your animals.

While you may have it on antibiotics now (which I think is unnecessary, as it doesn't look like it has any sort of infection) , unless you get your tank set up in an appropriate manner, they're just going to get sick, over and over.

This will shorten their lifespan dramatically, and they will die sooner, rather than later.

Why are they on antibiotics? She's not pregnant, she doesn't look as if there's an infection. She looks stressed.

just noticed his gills grew again and doing fine now....

Gills don't grow back in a day, since you're not wiling to take the advice given, fine, we cannot make you. However if you continue to post "my axolotl is sick" "something is wrong" etc. then how are we meant to believe anything you post.
