I check my ammonia levels every morning because my tank is still cycling and the result is always between 1 and 2 ppm. I change between 10% and 15% of the water daily (it's only a small 60L tank cus they're only 4-5inches) but the ammonia levels never seem to go down. Both of my axxies are fine, both eating like troupers and both pooping well so should I be worried. Oh, no signs of stress either.

The tank has been set up with them in it for 3 weeks.

Thanks

Your ammonia should be less than 1ppm by now. Try doing more frequent water changes, say 3-4 times a week, and see if that helps. Are you removing the poop and any uneaten food as you find it? Speaking of food, what are you feeding them?

Justin's right, you need to remove uneaten food and waste regularly and if ammonia levels are raised cut the feeding down. As for the cycling it can take alot longer than 3 weeks to complete, it took 6 in my tank! Just keep doing water changes every other day and checking the water, if you can test for nitrite you'll see it will spike and then drop away again - this is the sign that the cyclings near completion  x
