This is my Axolotl, I don’t know his exact age but since the breeder said he was born sometime in December, I’m assuming he’s 6, maybe almost 7 months old. I feed him a cube of bloodworms every night, sometimes I feed him live blackworms. I don’t know if he is too small though, does he look too small for his estimated age? I put my thumb for reference (I would’ve used both but I was holding the camera, when I use both he’s the same size as the space in between both my thumbs)

just like most other animals axolotls can grow at different rates, sometimes the ones that take the longest to grow end up being larger than the others and sometimes they don't, it is one of the reasons it is so hard to gauge the age of an axolotl based on it's size.
there's no noticeable issues or deformities so just enjoy him being small while you can.

Hello. I just noticed two notches, white small bubbles on the hind legs of one of my male newts.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
