I would thaw it, first. Then it is OK to put it in the water. I'd just be careful to siphon out any uneated food so the water chemistry isn't messed up. If you don't thaw the cube first, you risk impaction, I believe.

Good luck,
Dana

It´s generally recommended to thaw them first, get rid of the excess liquid and then feed them to the newts.
I however dump the cube right in the water xD. As it melts the newts smell it and congregate for the falling bloodworms. They never fail.
The bloodworm "soup" might foul the water if it´s a small volume, but in a big enough tank i think it just becomes food for protozoans and the assorted microlife of a healthy tank.

If there are bloodworms left after a couple of hours, remove them. They go bad quickly.

thanks for your replies.
i have thawed out the cube and poped it in the tank.
the newts have come out to see what all the activitys about, but i havent seen them eat anything, i will leave them now because its quite late, il check on them in the morning.
i also saw that some have the worms have been sucked up by the filter and jammed into the intake, should i get a new filter or will it be ok?
thanks again
michael
