hi all, i have just got another axie YAY- a wildtype this time. ive put him in another tank for quarentine and hes also a good 7cm shorter than the other one so i thought she might take a nip or two at him. thing is after i bought him home i was looking at his tail and i see white patches on it..?? theyre not fluffy, they look like white markings but i thought this is usual on a wildtype. is it? also he has gold rings around the outside of his eyes. does this mean hes a melanoid?

No the gold rings don not indicate he is melanoid...quite the opposite in fact. Melanoids are a very deep black colour with brown eye rings.

In this piccy are two melanoids, Psylocke and Gizmo. You can see how black they are against the wildtypes tail that is just in shot.

Are the white patches actually very shiny almost golden( like in my piccy in which case it's just pigment) ? Otherwise treat with salt bats for a few days and let the new fellow have time to settle in.

no, it looks like white skin on him.but not normal skin, looks like it shouldnt be there. im salt bathing him twice a day. how long should i do this for before the fungus should go away becuase ill do it for that long and if it doesnt it must just be his colouring. damnit i want a black one!!! will the wild type get closer to black? id love melanoid but theres none over here

it seems to be getting worse (maybe its my eyes hehe) you cant really see it when you look at it normally, but i tend to shine the torch on the axies (avoiding the head of course)he does have some lighter patches like your wildtype. today during a salt bath i ran my finger over his tail (it didnt feel any different and didnt come off) so i think ill continue doing them for a few more days and if nothing improves it must just be him....
