Hello,
So I got my girl Axel a friend who happens to be a boy. After a few days of both being all over each other, I went to clean the tank and I found that there are these tiny things all over the glass. It is like a clear outer shell and then something inside them. If you look under a microscope or super close to them you can see something inside them moving but could these be eggs? Everywhere I look for egg photos all I can see are a whole heap in one area (mine are all over the tank) and they are perfectly rounded. These are quite small. Would this be eggs or something else I should worry about?

Sounds a bit small for axolotls eggs! Do you have snails in the tank?

Regards Neil

Oddly enough no, I havent introduced anything into the tank which may contain snails either so its a bit unusual at the moment

Do you have any live plants? These tiny snails are usually introduced with them

Do they look like these?

(the center may be a different color depending on what the color of the axies will be)

If so, then cool; you've got eggs

Freshly laid axolotl eggs definitely wouldn't have anything moving in the middle. Axolotl embryos don't start moving until they're quite obviously axolotls, not little dots.
