a few people have said they've been told not to use ice to cool down tank temp.... is there something wrong with ice? even if you freeze tank water into ice blocks?

A few things is thatyour tank water would attract bacteria and or other things to it and might et somthing that could tansfer to your axies.
My opinion water in a bottle, freeze bottle and use that
. Dont freeze your water into cubes and put it in, Thats wat killed my tadpoles
. The ice cubes transfered bad bacteria into my tank

i dont no about the bacteria on the frozen ice cubes stipe, but i agree with you with using the bottles.
