I don’t know about anyone else but I feel like there is.
I myself would love to have some! I used to have eastern newts when I was younger but I haven’t found any in years out in the wild. I’m 37 now and a fish breeder. Been breeding south and central American cichlids for about four years now. Every time I go to the pet store I’m always looking to see if they have Newts, but they never do. I myself am interested in getting a few newts. I would love to have my own colony. That would be super cool!
I’m glad to hear they’ve been thriving with you.

I gotta say that is freaking awesome! You got quite the collection! One day I’ll have a collection like that… Do u have any Rough Skinned Newts? And no you’re not far at all.
I have a couple 75g and a 60 g long, I could put to use lol

I don't have any easterns but I want to get some eventually. My concern is raising them aquatic. I don't want terrestrial setups for the efts. My understanding is some morphs or subspecies stay aquatic and transition from larva directly to the adult form without becoming terrestrial efts. I need to find some of those.
Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
