Iridophores increase with age?

I just got my first golden axie and he has some beautiful sparkly gills, legs and some freckles on his fin. Will these iridophores increase with age or stay the same.

Might actually get duller with age, you never know with these little guys!Most likely he will stay the same, Mine got duller

That's beautiful coloration! Do the gills get a bright red when feeding?

Lol not so far. He is very laid back, and still young. So I haven't seen the super active red gills.
