Hi there,

Here are some pictures of my axies. Spike (Golden), Angel (White), Lorne (Brown) and Harmony (Light Brown).

Can anyone tell me what type Harmony is? I think he is Leucistic but not really sure. He has black circles around his eyes and brown spots all over. I just got him a couple of days ago.

I am calling them all male as I'm not sure what sex they are yet.

See ya, Melissa

Harmony is a light colored wildtype. Leucistics are white with brown speckles on their face and crest.

Cool axies,I love Harmonys colour, don't see it very often.Nice variety there Melissa

Thanks everyone. They are just my Pride and Joy and if you ask my friends, they will tell you I'm obsessed.

By the way, Harmony is not in good condition at the moment as he jumped out of the tank last night. Not sure how long he was out of water but he seems to be doing ok now. He didn't have much physical damage, just bleeding from the gills which I think has stopped now. My heart sank last night when I saw him on the floor!

Oh no, thats terrible! I'm glad hes recovering though! Melissa, if you tank has a high water level (tank filled) then you definately need a lid...

Yeah, I do have a lid which is now on all the time. My other axies have never jumped so I didn't expect him to do it!

Harmony is so much more active than the others. I think I will put him in the bigger tank once he has grown a bit more.

He had two worms today so he seems to be recovering ok.

Thanks jojo

Melissa :)

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
