Sorry in advance for the bad pics, my P&S camera hates me 
I got Aarna from a woman in my herp society who had a bunch of young axies she was trying to rehome, and brought them to the monthly meeting. Seeing as she was in "desperate" need of being "rescued" by being overwhelmed, I as a good citizen, decided to "help" out and get one. (I'm NOT allowed to bring home surprise animals...)
My bf came to get me from the meeting, and was slightly miffed at me, but as soon as he saw her swimming around, fell in love with her, and all was forgiven >D.
I feel like I have struck gold with Aarna, as being a first time axie owner, I just picked out a "yellow" one. Now I know she is a Golden Albino, and shes super special because shes regened a bunch of extras, which make her super unique! She has an extra gill on the left side, 2 merged together on the right, and i believe an extra toe on her left foot! Shes so awesome!
She is 9 months old, and about 3.5-4 inches long. Someone told me she could be a female, but sometimes her "bump" seems too big for that *shrug* Any and all sexing guesses are welcome
Her name is Sanskrit, it means ocean/wave & the name of the Goddess of wealth (among various other duties).
I have never had fish tanks before so I'm learning as I go, making sure to do LOTS of water changes as I'm cycling with her. She is currently in a VERY basic tank: One sponge filter, a hide with a tiny bit of Java moss attached to it, and bare bottom, no substrate. Her temps hang out about 70 *F with no ice, with ice about 66 *F. I try and keep it under 70 *F and if it goes about that, the ice goes in.
