Intrducing my xmas prezzie

Would like to introduce my new little one.
No named yet hubby wants to call it Astra after his car, please help with a name if you got any so my little one dont get called Astra

His/her was in a tank with 6 others and was the smallest sad looking axie puppy dog eyes with its noomed gills and skinny look. I had to get him/ her, he/she has settled well the 2ft tank we had cycled and has eaten 2 small worms and again today although he/her wanted to eat my tongs more than the worms

In reptiles and amphibians, I generally avoid giving them gendered names unless they are old enough to sex. This is less for myself than for later conversations with others, keeping track of which animal is which.

I like to watch an animal until a name "suggests itself."

Barring that, and being an innately silly person, I would consider words that aren't really intended as names. Adjectives are a good place to starts. Or if that isn't your cuppa, consider old-fashioned or very formal Human names such as Mr. Aurthur L. Cornwall III, The Right Reverend Mr Smith, or the Duchess of Canterbury for instance.

Little one is doing really well, eats every time and is loving the worms. I have a feeling little one is a he seems to be bigger lump an freckels so for now im calling little one he. My hubby is still calling him Astra and its kinda growing on me He is very fisty an attacks the tongs an turkey baster he is loving his worms too which is always a good sign, but he is very camara shy an every time I try take a pic he swims of to his hide.

Freckels my other axie is always watching his tank, I think she nows she got a friend in there.
Freckels is way bigger she is about 28cm little guy is only about 10cm so be a while befor they can meet.

Little guy finally has a name:happy: We have called him TOPAZ I came up with it whilst watching the tv I saw a Mexican topaz ring its was this lovely yellow/orangey colour an it looked just like little guys eyes.

Now my hubby said we should call freckels RUBY an I like it im hoping Freckels doesn't mind her name change

Well, we named a few of ours after the fellas cars. Ones called Evo and one Puma (ford racing puma) we ended up calling one other Scooby too lol
