Hello, guys!

I'm choosing new internal filter for my axolotl's tank (it's ~80liters), currently I use just simple internal filter with sponge for <100l tanks, but it seems to be not enough - my axolotl produces really huge amount of waste :)

So, I have to choose between Fluval U2 and Tetra IN800 filters. They have similar characteristics, they both are for <100l tanks, they have almost similar filtering components inside. Does anybody use one of those filters? Which one is better for tank with axolotl and why? Which one produces less heat?

Thanks in advance! :)

Hey Vivern,
Can't answer your question directly as I'm not picking up my axies until the weekend, but I can recommend the U2. I use them in my fish tanks. I find they are very good and haven't noticed any heat. :D

melr70, thank you! :)
I bought U2, because it is a little bit smaller, than Tetra, but has more filtering components inside and also U2 could be installed on tank bottom. And it's really quiet! :) But I think, flow may be too strong for my axie (even in B mode). So I will watch my axie if it likes flow or not, if not, I think it's possible to place something that will be directing flow to the tank wall or corner to reduce the flow.

Hey Vivern,
I think you're right. The flow is a little strong. I've cut a length of hose pipe and drilled small holes along it, attached it to the filter and aimed it towards the side. Hardly any currrent at all now :)
