Infertile Axolotl eggs

[FONT=arial, helvetica, sans-serif]Hi .....For the last couple of spawnings my 3 year old Leucistic axie female has laid eggs and only 5 or 6 eggs have been fertile out of about 300 or so..Up to just before Christmas she was laying healthy eggs regularly every few months.. .The male is about the same age and is Leucistic also..If a only few are fertile would it be a problem with the male or female? They are both healthy and eating well. They have always lived together and I would not like to part them. Any advice please?

It could be that your female is breeding too often, and is unable to create viable eggs.

Hi .. Thank you for your reply. I have kept a record of all her spawnings and her last was 26th January this year. Generally she was quite regular at 77to78 days which was the same in this case. I wonder if it is the male as he goes to their spawning site several times when the eggs are due. In all the time I have had them I never seen his 'little packets' laying anywhere, but she has always produced healthy eggs until the last two spawnings..

In what way were the eggs infertile? Did they look a strange way, did they never develop or did they develop wrong?

Hi Thanks for your reply...The eggs looked perfect as usual, but only 6 developed.. The rest did not change shape at all..
