Inducing Neoteny in Tiger Larvae

I know you can induce morphing in tiger larvae by using iodine, but what I would like to know is are there any chemicals that would help keep tiger larvae in a neotenic stage, increasing the chances of breeding them successfully? Is there anything I can do besides keeping temperatures down and stable and plenty of food in the tank?

Not that I know of. The mechanisms for why a certain population of sals becomes neotenic are still only guesses.

Does iodine work with axies. I don't have any, but I would be interested to know

It's possible to force morph an axy using iodine but more than likely you'll end up killing the animal. If it didn't die during the process (the iodine would have to be administered precisely) it would probably die shortly after the process (see John Clares Axy site). It would probably make more sense to cross breed it with a Parrot so it could tell you off for messing with it and fly away to find a new home with a good keeper.
