Inducing breeding

I'm sure this is such a common question but I can't seem to find an answer. My adults won't get to it. I've lowered water level and temperature, introduced the male to the female and nothing is happening this year. It worked all the other years but they're just not into it. Any suggestions or old tricks to induce breeding? Thanks.
