Indian almond leaves

I just picked up some cherry shrimp to put in with my newts. I know they might get eaten but im ok with that. I like watching my newts hunt things. The guy/girl i purchased the shrimp from gave me a indian leaf to put with the shrimp. Would this do harm to my newts or should i just throw it away

It should be fine with your newts. I've had them in the past as they are supposed to have anti-fungal effects. I have English Oak leaves in some of my tanks now as they do a similar job.
