Well I am new to all this. More of a scorpion guy myself. Went out in the woods looking around and found this lil guy. I usto catch these things all over the place when I was younger. Decided to pick him up and bring him home. Now I need help identifying it.
Found on the coast range of oregon. Outside of corvallis for anyone who cares. Its probably a really common salamander or newt. I dont even know exactly what it is. Any help is great. Sorry for the crappy pic quality.

yep-shes got it right, keep it cool and not to damp-their tails fall off and they die if they are kept too damp, its a tight balance because they are lungless and need moisture to respire.....

lungless, yet not aquatic? i gotta read up on my species.....i plan on going to U of Oregon for grad school, cant wait to go looking around in the beautiful pacific NW. that doesnt sound like the ideal creature to keep in captivity under those circumstances, good luck.

Should go to OSU not UO..
