Hey ladies and gentlemen,

im so pumped at the moment and had to share.
My new filter (external) has just arrived - GO EBAY WOOHOO . I was going to set up my newly purchased 60Litre tank, but after joining this site, realised this is nowhere near big enough for my 2 male axies.
I am soon to be the owner of a 4foot tank with stand and hood for a VERY CHEAP price and l cant wait to put them in there new home (ive always wantd a talk like this but l couldnt because they were so expensive brand new). I know its still going to be a while yet, till i can put them in their home - but l have to share my pyhco excitment! !
I cant wait to post pics so you can see my new tank and my 2 little men.

Ive seen in other post too that cycling can be quickened up but using the previous tanks substrate, plants and shrimp??? i hope that this works and quickens the cycing because l really want to get them in there! ! !

Sorry for an essay on something that i wont be able to show you guys for ANOTHER MONTH, but im so excited!

getting new tanks are so exciting arnt they? yes using substrate, adding old filters and water will help it along. you can use shrimp if you want... but its not a necessity. way to go on getting your axies a bigger, better home. i bet that now you have more room your family will grow haha

Yeh it is xciting. Ive been wanting a new tank for a very long time sp you can image just how excited l am. Im hoping to get more. Id love some young ones but id have to put them in the separate tank as the two l have now are quite big and l dont want to risk the baby getting picked on. I havent even GOT the tank as yet and im already wanting to buy plants and caves lol
I CANT WAIT!

Just make sure you post some pictures of it when your finished.

I love going through the gallery looking at everyones axies and setups. (great place for ideas too)

Will do Andrew!!
Thats what made me want another tank (plus my boys are outgrowing the one they are in now) - from looking through the gallery LOL

Will definatley post pics. I picked the tank up on Tuesday, all l need to do is clean it out and cycle really.

...damn, i really want a bigger tank for our axolotl (little creep). way to go, congrats to you!

just as info, shrimp? dont put in ther unless you want to get rid of it, or if its big enough so it doesnt fit the mouth of you axolotl. all our shrimps have gone down the throuth(sp).

sorry for bad language, english is as seen not my native toung.

Yes Sean im very excited.
Also guys, just need to kno...
I have an "hang over" filter, as ive mentioned in a different post ("i need help making a spray bar for an external filter" - that thread) and i dont think the suction tube is quite as long as when it should be for the depth of the tank.
SOOOO.. i was thinking l should also have a internal corner filter as well, just for the moment. Just while l go away and have time to fix it when l get back.
??

What you think? Do you guys think its too much?
Like im draining the water of all the good stuff (so to speak)??

thanks jojo

so you want a internal as well as a HOB? you can have both as long as its not too much water flow for them

Theres nearly ZERO water movement now with the hang over filter, so should be cool. I mean the corner filters that are hooked up to air air pumps - they have no water outlet at all really. They are plastic corner boxes that hold cotton really. So water flow shouldnt be an issue.
Thanks a bunch Sharn!

You will soon know weather you have too much water flow or not when you try and feed bloodworms. LOL what a mess.

lol thats so true. Lucky l dnt feed bloodworms then lol
Thats the exact reason y i dnt use bloodworms - too much mess!
