I have a 75 gal. set up fish tank and would like to keep the fish in it and still have newts...naturally giving them a dry area. The question is...is that possible, to have a full tank, and fish that get along with newts? I also have live plants. Also, what would I feed them b/c I don't want a bunch of dead crickets or anything floating around the tank...Brine Shrimp?

what kind of newts are you putting in the tank? Because if you're not wanting to put in axolotls then you shouldn't be posting this here.

I moved this post from the axolotl forum.

Kelly, what temperature do you want to keep the tank? There are very few fish that can tolerate optimal newt temperatures.

Well. she hasn't mention about keeping axolotls yet. Although that might be her only choice to keep both newt and fish together.

honestly I have been trying to find some sort of species page that shows a picture as well as information.

Kelly, go read these FAQ. One of the questions has links to many of the caresheets for common species.

However, before you go too far, I'll tell you that there aren't very many combinations of newts (or axolotls) with fish that work out well. It's possible, but caudates are not good community animals.
