ok,since i have a tendency to waffle on,i'll try to keep this short.
My tank is arriving tomorrow (4ft...rest of dimensions unknown till it arrives),i have some decor and am going to go for bare bottom tank for the time being, might change to sand.
Ive read everything on here about cycling, googled it to death, asked two different aquariums, asked customers at work
.
Even though i know fishless cycling is best,im going to cycle with the axies in,as the lfs has all their axies in tanks with gravel(even the fully grown ones
)and there are so many babies in the one tank that theyre all eating each other.
I know i'll need to do water changes and keep a close eye on amonia/nitrite/nitrate whilst the tank is cycling.....i'm just scared im going to kill them all.
I guess my question is has anyones cycling gone disasterously wrong and they've lost all their axies?(which would be unlikely since i could put them in containers out the tank till i cycle it,but...yeah).
Am i just being overly worried?
