Now I 'd like to talk about stones and sand in our tank.
I've been thinking for a long time whether I should say out.....
I see in your aquarium has always had a lot of sand and stones..that's very dangerous for axolotls.
Axolotl bad eyesight and they always eat sand or stones by accident. Some of them had good luck and the stones or sand could come out from their cloacal, but there would had a lot of them dead from this.
Every month I have to encounter this kind of thing in our online forum:(

Look at this pic,a stone can not be ruled out in vitro. It's very painful, his owner squeeze out the stone with hands.
66273705201305032351452296447531921_000.jpg

We really don't want to see happen ,but....

That is what did I want to say:(

Ouch, that looks painful :(
I don't like gravel. The local pet store still has axies on gravel (and goldfish as tank mates) and I told them so many times not to do that but they just ignore it. And those axies really look sad, it breaks my heart.

But your axie pics. Wow, those gills! So pretty! God kill me now :D

Yay, you're back! Your axies all look beautiful. :D

So true about the gravel, at least this forum is here to warn those who come for advise.

What's your Giant Gill secret. Maybe we can all learn from it :)

Your axies gills are amazing! I love your camera quality what are you using to take pictures? I remember the pictures of the eggs were so clear and close up it was unbelievable.

回复: Re: I'm coming!Good pics of 75-day-old axolotl babies!

Someone asked me whether these photos are microscope photography.
But in fact it isn't

Now I'll show you how did I photo these pics use a simple camera.
This is the camera---SanyoGH3

This DV's macro is 1 cm from object, and 10 million pixels.
Like this, with some objects to place the DV, ensure that hands do not shake, and you can adjust different objects at different altitudes

You can adjust the direction of the above clip light 11WIn photography, the light is very important.

I 'm taking egg photograph.(My position doesn't look good:uhoh:)

That's how did I take this photos.:p

Oh,yes!Just like here!!:nono:
Every time I told them but......:mad:they do not even feed them---no legs and no gills.....
Now I can't see the Axolotls in shops because I don't want to be sad.

Hello, welcome back - I was wondering how your baby axolotls were doing.

Like everyone else, I'm jealous of your axolotls beautiful gills - they really thrive under your care.

Thank you for the photo and advice on gravel and sand - most members here always advise against any type of gravel and also to use only the finest grain sand available. Now we have a photo for reference to warn others of the dangers.

Look forward to more of your photos and seeing your baby Axolotls grow

Re: 回复: Re: I'm coming!Good pics of 75-day-old axolotl babies!

Im curious where you get your tanks?
Are they made locally?
I love rimless cube tanks :)

Those are some of the FLUFFIEST gills I have EVER seen!! omg, theyre all so adorable :)

回复: Re: 回复: Re: I'm coming!Good pics of 75-day-old axolotl babies!

I make my tanks myself!:D
I found a good way to make our tank as beautidul as yours--to print some pictures and stick on the back and the bottom of our tanks.
I download some clear and large pictures online. Resize them with Photoshop(as the same size as our tank) and print them that waterproof film on surface. Then stick the pictures on KT Board.
I Have a large collection of these beautiful pictures,if anyone want them I 'll send to your E-mail.

.

Are they cool?

Some of my little tanks were made by myself.
In fact most of the glass was picked up from trash - -#

Im fascinated by the gills on your lotls...
you must have very clean water for them to get so big
Where do you get your water from? Do you have to de-chlorinate or treat the water? How often do you change your water?
Sponge filters are the best! I need a better air pump for mine...

before my filter failure my pink axolotl was getting from very big gills as well
the filter failed and the water fouled up quite a bit before I got home the next day and I unfortunately lost the pink lotl :(
my wildtype is doing well and his gills are getting bigger and bushier every day :)
I can only hope they get as big as what I see on yours!!

I change water each 3 days in Winter\Spring\Autumn and 2 days in summer.
Using tap water-- dechlorinate with "Sodium thiosulfate".
Just look at this post:D----→ →http://www.caudata.org/forum/f46-be...e-have-different-way-keep-axolotls-china.html

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
