wow. 300 is alot to raise. i have about 50 and they are a fair bit of work, with the water changes daily and the amount of food you need to supply. im lucky i have some-one who wants to buy all of them off me, as rehoming can be hard to. i wish you luck.:D

Well i have alot of time for them so it should be all ok but after counting them there is only abit over 200 300 was just a guess :)

Regardless, unless you have positive homes for all of them, you should not raise more than a dozen or so. Raising 200 is not a smart idea. It's expensive and seriously time consuming.

What foods to you plan on feeding? Do you have those foods prepared yet? Do you have enough dechlorinator to do daily water changes on larval tanks? Do you have the money to buy a constant supply of tiny, live food? Do you have enough tanks to put the larvae in? What are you going to do with the larvae when they get bigger?

The problem with trying to raise 300 (even if you have homes for them all) is that it usually results in crowding and massive die-offs. While raising a few of them usually results in careful pampering and less chance of injury or die-off.

Consider offering some of the eggs to a local school, or to other people who might want to raise some. Good luck!

Ok so its time for eggs to have hatched was gonna send some away to perth but to late and.................... most did not develope they just started to rot and only 4 hatched not sure wat happend and y so many didn hatch but i have 4 very healthy looking babies

It happens sometimes.....

Good luck with the four that did survive! Remember, keep the water clean and keep them well fed.

If they didn't hatch, then the most likely reason is that they weren't fertilized. Good luck with the four!

no they had been fertilized they we starting to develope and just stopped

Hmm, well, did you keep the water clean? Did you use a mild aeration? Were they on java moss?

Oh well there would be alot of import rules and fees and it would cost a hell of a lot cant u get them there?
