Last night I went to bed with about a dozen hatchlings, and this morning I woke up to 50+! Ack!

It looks like I may even have a few Leucistics in the bunch. The majority look wildtype or melanoid. We'll see when they grow bigger.

Also, I'm moving the herp room to a different bedroom today. Right now, the caudates (and turtles) are kept in what was a semi-unfinished attic space. This involves going through a hobbit-sized door, through a hobbit-sized room, and down some steps to a steeply slanted ceilinged room. It makes water changes awkward, as I can't get the buckets up into the tanks because the ceiling is in the way.

So I'm moving my bedroom back there (hey, I don't need ceilings for sleep), and putting the caudates in the room that's currently the living room (the smaller of the two main rooms), and moving the living room to where the bedroom is. Then I have to swap out some tank stands and put the snakes in the living room (where it's warmer). I really should have set this up like this when I moved in. Oops! This is an enormous undertaking. I'm glad I only have two aquatic tanks now! Wish me luck!

must be something in the air.
i just moved 3 from one room to another with another 2 to go, at least mine was just across a hall way,so yes i do wish you good luck lol.

i'm thinkin of moving my ballpython too!! and yea kaysie i remember that hobbit sized door.....i hit my head on it!!!....kaysie let me know if ur gonna be selling somemore axolotls!!

Congratulations Kaysie on the hatchlings, fingers crossed for the leucistic's....and the move. I'm still having nightmares about my boys move!!

Moving yourself into the attic... and the herps into the living room? Hmmm something has gone badly wrong there, Kaysie! You need racking :D or a bigger house. Good luck.

I have racks. The sloped ceilings get in the way...

"You know there are newts in your house when..." lol.

I remember the days of one tank... The only room with no caudate paraphernalia is the kitchen, and that's only because there's literally NO room in there. I've even got a thriving brown algae culture in the toilet (where waste-water from changes gets dumped).
